Child Abuse Prevention (CAP) Team Facilitator

Duties and Responsibilities

·

Participate in two-day Virtus training workshop given by archdiocese.

·

Set up schedule of parish training for adults (employees, volunteers, parishioners).

·

Implement parish training session:

Prepare audience to experience a positive awareness session.

Present the materials provided by Virtus program.

3

Show two videos: A Time to Protect God's Children; A Place to Protect God's Children.

Present policies and procedures of Virtus program.

5

Present St. Zepherin Parish Safe Environment Policies and Procedures.

6

Present Massachusetts laws regarding child sexual abuse.

7

Interact with audience to answer questions to reinforce the 15 knowledge / training points.

Explain Virtus online and how to register as participants.

Collect evaluation forms; distribute certificates; send attendance list to archdiocese.

·

Continue education 10-15 minutes per month provided via Virtus online.

·

Serve as ex officio member of Safe Environment Committee.
