Christian Service, Homebound Visitation

Duties and Responsibilities

·

Visit homebound persons either weekly or biweekly.

·

Occasionally provide transportation for doctor appointments, food shopping, prescription pickup, etc.

·

Set limits and avoid problem solving.

·

Observe the physical surroundings and the emotional and spiritual needs of the person.

·

Honor and maintain confidentiality in all matters.

·

Attend regularly scheduled meetings with others in this ministry.

·

Follow safe environment procedures for reporting concerns.

Time Commitment

1-4 hours weekly or biweekly

Length of Commitment

2 years

Training

·

Complete initial training program and take part in ongoing formation.

·

Become familiar with safe environment procedures.

·

Attend periodic workshops and days of reflection offered by archdiocese.
