CHECKLIST FOR LITURGY COORDINATORS
BEFORE MASS:
Find schedule for your Mass on table in back of church. For 10 AM Mass, pick up schedule in lobby of center if it is a cluster week
- Turn baptismal Font on – turn on heater if baptism scheduled at 1PM.
- Light Candles.
- 2 on altar.
- 2 at St. Joseph statue for procession.
- Any other seasonal candles as in Advent and Easter.
- Put on lights at statues of
- Mary and Joseph
- Tabernacle
- St. Zepherin Shrine.
RECRUIT VOLUNTEERS FOR:
- Cross bearer. Make sure that receptacle for pole is open and instruct cross bearer to make sure pole is set completely into receptacle (except during Easter Season, Cross is in place on the alter. During Easter Season, someone to fill water receptacle used to bless the congregation and carry for the presider).
- Candle bearers selected from cluster families on a cluster Sunday "A" "B" "C".
Instruct candle bearers that on any liturgy for children Sunday, Processional candles are placed on altar step so as to be easily retrieved for procession to center.
Try to get a family for these three positions.
- Offertory procession bread and wine. 2 persons.
- Offertory collection basket. 1 person
4 People needed for offertory collection.
- Give 2 baskets each before Mass starts. Assign area of church to be covered: left side, center left, center right and right side.
- Each collector should give one basket to those in first and last row in their section and retrieve them as they arrive in the middle of the section.
- Check to see if Eucharistic Coordinator has made their preparations and do so if not.
JUST BEFORE MASS STARTS:
- Wait in gathering area to greet any latecomers. They should not be seated during the readings. (If usher is present, he will instruct people when to sit.)
IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE COMPLETION OF THE HOMILY:
- The Liturgy Coordinator at the 10 AM Mass should go to the center and give the leaders of the children’s Liturgy a 2 minute warning, so that they may return to the church for the remainder of Mass.
- The presentation of the gifts (Bread and Wine) should not begin until the collection has been completed and placed in the large basket.
- The Bread and Wine are carried first, closely followed by the basket of offerings.
AFTER MASS:
- Take collection envelopes to sacristy and place in one of the bags that are found on the rack beside the door to the chapel.
- Either give bag to presider or take to rectory.
